Made in PolandSkid plate (bash plate) with pipe guard made of 4 mm aluminium for KTM EXC 250/300 TPI and Husqvarna TE 250i/300i two-strokes, 2020–2023, and GasGas EC 250/300, 2021–2023. One guard covers the underside of the engine and the stock expansion chamber, and you bolt its 6 mounting points to the frame with no drilling and no changes to the bike. It fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe (not FMF, DEP or Fresco).
- KTM 250 EXC and 300 EXC 2T: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023
- Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 2T: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023
- GasGas EC 250 and EC 300 2T: 2021, 2022, 2023
The guard fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe. FMF, DEP and Fresco exhausts have a differently shaped chamber: for the FMF Gnarly and Fatty there is the PG08 pipe guard (and the PG08 X), for OXA the PG19, and for the stock (OEM) pipe the PG06 pipe guard on its own. For Husqvarna and GasGas with a linkage guard there is the PG05 H, and for all brands the stronger PG05 X (2.96 kg). Two-strokes from 2024 have the PG17.
The guard covers the engine cases and covers from below, and the expansion chamber at the front and side. On a two-stroke the pipe runs low under the engine and is the first thing to meet rocks. The expansion chamber sends the pressure wave back to the cylinder and its shape is matched to the engine, so a dent changes the power delivery. A cracked case means an oil leak, and replacing it means splitting the engine.
Internal supports hold the guard at a fixed distance from the pipe, the frame and the engine. The shape follows the pipe and the frame, so the guard does not collect mud and stones, and a large hole at the lowest point lets mud out.
The PG05 holds on to the bike at six points: two steel brackets at the rear, an aluminium bracket with two bolts at the front, and two bolts in the frame sockets. The reinforced versions add parts to the same base:
We bend the guard on a press brake from 4 mm PA11 aluminium (AlMg3) sheet and TIG-weld it on both sides. After welding we clean and polish it. The alloy, with about 3% magnesium, resists corrosion even in salt water, is stiff and keeps its shape.
Fitting needs no drilling and no changes to the bike. We design every guard from a 3D scan of the specific bike with the stock exhaust and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
