The guard fits a new, undented stock expansion chamber. FMF, DEP, Fresco and OXA exhausts have a different chamber shape: for the FMF Gnarly and Fatty there are the PG08 and PG08 X, and for OXA the PG19. For TBI two-strokes from 2024 there is the PG10, and for the EXC and TE 150 TPI from 2020–2023 the PG09.

The expansion chamber of a two-stroke reflects a pressure wave back towards the cylinder and pushes back in the mixture that escaped into the exhaust. Its shape is matched to the engine, so a dent changes the power delivery.

The chamber runs low under the engine and is the first part to hit rocks and logs. The PG06 surrounds it with a rod cage and takes those hits. The open design does not collect mud and stones, and you can easily clean the exhaust and the underside of the engine.

On rocky ground you can choose a stronger version: the enlarged PG06 X, which protects more of the chamber, right up to the bend at the cylinder (2.43 kg), or the PG11 made of 10 mm rod (3.40 kg). A 10 mm rod is about 2.4 times stiffer in bending than an 8 mm rod, because stiffness rises with the fourth power of the diameter. We TIG-weld the guard from 304 stainless steel rod, which contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The chromium forms a layer of oxides on the surface that protects the steel from rust, so it copes well with water, mud and road salt. An 8 mm rod is stiff and the whole guard stays light. After welding we clean and polish the guard.

You bolt the guard on at four points. Fit it on its own or together with a skid plate: the factory KTM, Husqvarna or GasGas one, our SP11, SP12 or SP13, or an Acerbis or AXP plate.

We design the shape of the guard from a 3D scan of the bike with the stock exhaust and cut the parts on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
