Skid plates with linkage guard for Husqvarna, GasGas, Beta and Rieju

The linkage (prolink) is the set of levers in the rear suspension and sits low under the bike. On the trail a bike can catch its linkage on a log or a rock and hang up on the obstacle. A skid plate with linkage guard covers the engine cases, engine covers and starter motor from below and the linkage as well, so the bike is less likely to hang up on the linkage link.

SP13 (two-strokes) and SP14 (four-strokes) are 6 mm HDPE and fit Husqvarna and GasGas. SP06, SP16 and SP17 are 8 mm HDPE: SP06 fits the Beta RR, SP16 fits Husqvarna and GasGas with TBI injection, and SP17 fits the Rieju MR Pro 300i. The skid plates with pipe guard, PG05 H, PG05 HX and PG17 H, are 4 mm aluminium with an extra 6 mm HDPE layer that guards the linkage; PG05 HX also has a 10 mm stainless steel rod spider.

HDPE is lighter than aluminium and absorbs impacts: the SP14 with linkage guard weighs 0.87 kg, while the aluminium SP02 without one weighs 1.01 kg. PG05 H, PG05 HX and PG17 H fit only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe, not FMF, DEP or Fresco. The other skid plates, including those for the KTM EXC, without a linkage guard are in the Skid plates category.
