Made in PolandSkid plate (bash plate) with pipe guard made of 4 mm aluminium, with an extra 6 mm HDPE layer that guards the linkage (Prolink), for Husqvarna TE 250/300 two-strokes, 2020–2023, and GasGas EC 250/300, 2021–2023. It protects the underside of the engine, the stock expansion chamber and the linkage, and you bolt its 6 mounting points to the frame with no drilling and no changes to the bike. It fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe (not FMF, DEP or Fresco).
- Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 2T: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023
- GasGas EC 250 and EC 300 2T: 2021, 2022, 2023
The guard fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe and does not fit FMF, DEP or Fresco exhausts. For the KTM EXC of these years there is the PG05 (2.30 kg), without the linkage guard layer. The reinforced version with a 10 mm rod spider is the PG05 HX (3.40 kg).
We add a layer of 6 mm HDPE sheet to the aluminium skid plate with pipe guard, and it covers the linkage (Prolink). Thanks to it the bike does not snag or hang up on obstacles. The layer weighs 0.43 kg: the PG05 H weighs 2.73 kg against 2.30 kg for the standard PG05.
HDPE is high-density polyethylene, which stands up to impacts and abrasion. It slides well over logs and rocks, flexes on impact and returns to its shape, and it also damps noise and vibration.
The aluminium part covers the engine cases and covers from below, and the expansion chamber at the front and side. On a two-stroke the pipe runs low under the engine and is the first thing to meet rocks. The expansion chamber bounces the pressure wave back to the cylinder and its shape is matched to the engine, so a dent changes the power delivery.
Internal supports hold the guard at a fixed distance from the pipe, the frame and the engine. The guard follows their shape, does not collect mud and stones, and a large hole at the lowest point lets mud out.
We bend the guard on a press brake from 4 mm PA11 aluminium (AlMg3) sheet and TIG-weld it on both sides. After welding we clean and polish it. The alloy, with about 3% magnesium, resists corrosion even in salt water, is stiff and keeps its shape.
You mount the guard at six points: two steel brackets at the rear, an aluminium bracket with two bolts at the front, and two bolts in the frame sockets. There is no drilling and no changes to the bike. We design every guard from a 3D scan of the specific bike with the stock exhaust and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
