Reinforced pipe guard KTM EXC, Husqvarna, GasGas 250/300 20-23

The guard fits a new, unbent stock (OEM) expansion chamber. It does not fit FMF, Fresco or DEP. For FMF Gnarly and Fatty there are the PG08 and PG08 X, and for OXA the PG19. For TBI two-strokes from 2024 there is the PG10.

The PG11 has a main frame of 10 mm rod, while the PG06 is made entirely of 8 mm rod. A 10 mm rod is about 2.4 times stiffer in bending than an 8 mm rod, because stiffness grows with the fourth power of the diameter. The PG11 weighs 3.40 kg, the PG06 1.97 kg and the oversized PG06 X 2.43 kg. Choose the PG11 when the expansion chamber often meets rocks and logs and the extra weight does not bother you.

A dent in the expansion chamber affects power. The expansion chamber reflects the pressure wave back to the cylinder, and its shape is matched to the engine.

The pipe guard surrounds the expansion chamber with a cage and takes the hits that would otherwise land on the pipe. The design is open, so you can easily clean the exhaust and the underside of the engine.

We TIG-weld the guard from 304 stainless steel, which contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The chromium forms an oxide layer on the surface that protects against rust in water, mud and salt. After welding we clean and polish the guard.

The guard needs no drilling or changes to the bike. You can fit it on its own or with a skid plate from various brands: a factory KTM, Husqvarna or GasGas plate, ours, Acerbis or AXP. You can download the fitting instructions as a PDF.

We design the pipe guard from a 3D scan of the bike and cut the parts on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
