Made in Poland4 mm AlMg3 aluminium (EN AW-5754, PA11) skid plate (bash plate) for TBI fuel-injected two-strokes: KTM EXC 250/300, Husqvarna TE 250/300 and GasGas EC 250/300, model years 2024–2027. It covers the engine cases, engine covers, water pump and the frame rails up to the footpeg mounts, and the stiff sheet keeps its shape after an impact. The bolts and washers for fitting to the frame are in the kit. It works with clutch and ignition cover guards and with the PG10 pipe guard or the larger PG10 X, and with the PG15 or PG15 X on bikes with an FMF exhaust.
- KTM 250 EXC and 300 EXC TBI, including 300 EXC Six Days and Hardenduro: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- KTM 250 XC-W and 300 XC-W TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- GasGas EC 250 and EC 300 TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
The standard KTM EXC leaves the factory without a skid plate from model year 2024. That year these two-strokes got a new frame and TBI injection in place of TPI, so plates for older model years do not fit. For 2020–2023 TPI two-strokes there is the SP11, and for the EXC and TE 150 TBI there is a separate plate, the SP09. A lighter plate for the same bikes is the SP08 in 8 mm HDPE (0.86 kg against 1.11 kg for this plate), and for Husqvarna and GasGas with a linkage guard there is the SP16.
The plate covers the engine cases, starter motor, clutch and ignition covers, water pump and the lower frame rails up to the footpeg mounts from underneath. Without a guard, those parts take the hits on rocks, roots and logs, plus the stones thrown up by your front wheel and by riders ahead of you. A cracked case or cover means an oil leak, which usually ends the ride, and replacing a case means splitting the engine.
A stiff sheet spreads the impact force across the whole plate and its mounting points on the frame, so a rock does not hit the case at a single point.
PA11 is the Polish designation for the alloy AlMg3 (EN AW-5754), aluminium with about 3% magnesium. It resists corrosion even in salt water, which is why boats are built from it. We bend the plate on a press brake and TIG-weld it on both sides. After welding we clean and polish it.
Aluminium copes better with sharp rock edges than plastic, and a 4 mm sheet is thinner than an HDPE plate, so it leaves more ground clearance.
The kit includes the mounting bolts and washers. You bolt the plate to four factory points on the frame with no drilling and no changes to the bike, so an impact goes into the frame and not through the bolts into the cases. You can drain the oil without removing the plate, and the bike still sits on a stand. The SP04 works with clutch and ignition cover guards and with the PG10 pipe guard or the larger PG10 X, and with the PG15 or PG15 X on bikes with an FMF exhaust.
You can buy it at a lower price in a set with the PG10 pipe guard and the RG17 F radiator guards.
We design every plate from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
