Made in PolandPipe guard (exhaust guard) made of 8 mm stainless steel rod for FMF Gnarly and Fatty exhausts on TBI-injected two-strokes: KTM EXC 250/300, Husqvarna TE 250/300 and GasGas EC 250/300, model years 2024–2027. In hard enduro the pipe is hit most often by rocks and logs, and this guard takes the blow. It fits only a new, unbent FMF expansion chamber, not the stock OEM one, and not TPI engines. You can fit it on its own, or with our SP04 and SP08 plates with no further changes. On plates from other makers (Acerbis, AXP, Crosspro) you drill two holes for the lower bolts, and OEM plates need larger cut-outs.
- KTM 250 EXC and 300 EXC TBI, including 300 EXC Six Days and Hardenduro: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- KTM 250 XC-W and 300 XC-W TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
- GasGas EC 250 and EC 300 TBI: 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027
The guard fits a new, unbent FMF expansion chamber and does not fit the stock OEM one. For the stock expansion chamber in these model years there are the PG10 and PG10 X, and for OXA the PG21. The larger FMF version is the PG15 X, which protects more of the expansion chamber, right up to the bend at the cylinder. For FMF on TPI two-strokes from 2020–2023 there is the PG08.
The PG15 X protects the same FMF expansion chamber, but it is larger, covers more of the expansion chamber, right up to the bend at the cylinder, and weighs 2.31 kg, while the PG15 weighs 1.98 kg. Both are made of 8 mm rod.
A dent in the expansion chamber changes the power delivery, because the expansion chamber reflects the pressure wave back towards the cylinder, and its shape is matched to the engine.
The FMF expansion chamber sits low under the engine. The PG15 surrounds it with a rod cage that takes the hits from rocks and logs, does not collect mud, and lets you easily clean the exhaust and the underside of the engine.
We TIG-weld the cage from 304 stainless steel. About 18% chromium and 8% nickel in the steel give it a protective oxide layer on the surface, so the guard stands up well to water, mud and salt. After welding we clean and polish it.
The guard needs no drilling or changes to the bike. You can fit it on its own, or with no further changes with our SP04 (4 mm aluminium) and SP08 (8 mm HDPE) skid plates. On plates from other makers, such as Acerbis, AXP and Crosspro, you need to drill two holes for the lower bolts, and OEM plates need larger cut-outs. Mounting points: 4.
We design the pipe guard from a 3D scan of the bike and cut the parts on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
