Radiator guards KTM EXC, Husqvarna, GasGas 2024-2027 – RG17

RG17 is the version for bikes without a fan. If your bike has a factory OEM fan, choose RG17 F. Want to add a fan? RG17 Fan Set contains the guards together with a SPAL fan. The open frame without a front is RG18, the milled guards with a mud opening are RG15, and the external braces are RG03. For model years 2020–2023 there is RG09. The guards do not fit two-strokes with TPI injection.

A radiator on an enduro bike is a thin aluminium core with fins. In a fall onto its side the core bends or twists, the channels crack and coolant leaks out. Without coolant the engine overheats quickly, so a punctured radiator usually means being towed home. Besides falls, radiators take the stones thrown up by the riders ahead of you.

RG17 surrounds each radiator with a frame at the side and with cross-bars at the front. The internal supports brace against the bike's frame and are fixed to it, so the force of an impact goes into the frame. The guards do not limit steering lock. With the full front you take off the factory radiator shrouds. If you prefer to keep them in place, choose RG18, which weighs 0.70 kg.

We bend the guards from AlMg3 aluminium sheet (EN AW-5754, PA11), 4 mm thick, and TIG-weld them. After welding we clean and polish them. It is an alloy with about 3% magnesium, used to build boats because it resists corrosion even in salt water. 4 mm sheet is stiff, keeps its shape and stands up well to abrasion. The set weighs 1.36 kg.

The kit contains guards for both radiators and the mounting hardware. The factory radiator shrouds come off, because the front is closed. No drilling or changes to the bike are needed.

We design the guards from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut them on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
