External radiator guards KTM EXC, Husqvarna, GasGas 2024-2027

RG03 fits bikes from model year 2024. It is not for two-strokes with TPI injection. The open-frame guards that bolt to the bike's frame are RG18 (no fan) and RG18 F (with a factory fan). The full-front guards are RG17 and RG17 F, and the milled ones are RG15.

A radiator on an enduro bike is a thin aluminium core with fins. In a fall onto its side the core bends or twists, the channels crack and coolant leaks out. Without coolant the engine overheats quickly, so a punctured radiator usually means being towed home. RG03 is an external brace, and its internal supports brace against the radiator mounts in the frame.

The brace covers the radiator at the side. The front of the radiator stays open. If you want a guard that surrounds the radiator with a frame and is fixed to the bike's frame, choose RG18, and for stones thrown up by the riders ahead of you the full-front RG17.

We bend the braces from AlMg3 aluminium sheet (EN AW-5754, PA11), 4 mm thick, and TIG-weld them. After welding we clean and polish them. It is an alloy with about 3% magnesium, used to build boats because it resists corrosion even in salt water. 4 mm sheet is stiff, keeps its shape and stands up well to abrasion. The set weighs 0.41 kg, which is 0.29 kg less than RG18 (0.70 kg).

The set for both radiators is bolted together and ready to fit. You do not drain the coolant. During fitting you move the horn to the other side (the last photo on the product page shows this). No drilling or changes to the bike are needed.

We design the braces from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut them on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
