Radiator guards + fan kit KTM EXC, Husqvarna, GasGas 2020-2023 – RG10

The kit includes a fan, so you add it to a bike without a fan. The RG10 braces alone (0.77 kg) can be bought separately: RG10 without a fan or RG10 F for a bike with an OEM fan. The fan on its own, without guards, is in a separate kit: “Radiator fan kit KTM EXC, Husqvarna, GasGas 17-23 – TPI & 4T”. The full-front guards in these model years are RG09 Fan Set.

A radiator on an enduro bike is a thin aluminium core with fins. In a fall onto its side the core bends or twists, the channels crack and coolant leaks out. Without coolant the engine overheats quickly, so a punctured radiator usually means being towed home. RG10 surrounds each radiator with a frame at the side, and the internal supports brace against the bike's frame and are fixed to it, so the force of an impact goes into the frame. The front of the radiator stays open, air flows straight onto the core and the guards do not limit steering lock.

At low speed on difficult terrain hardly any air flows through the radiators, while the engine runs at higher revs and with a lot of clutch slipping. The coolant boils and escapes through the overflow. The fan pushes air through the radiator even when you are standing still or crawling along. It does not replace a healthy cooling system: coolant, cap and sealed hoses.

We bend the guards from PA11 aluminium sheet (AlMg3, EN AW-5754), 4 mm thick, and TIG-weld them. After welding we clean and polish them. It is an alloy with about 3% magnesium, used to build boats because it resists corrosion even in salt water. 4 mm sheet is stiff, keeps its shape and stands up well to abrasion. The whole set with the fan weighs 1.27 kg, of which the RG10 guards alone account for 0.77 kg.

The kit contains the RG10 braces, a SPAL fan with the original KTM plug, a fan bracket (mounting), a relay, and screws and rivets. It is a set for both radiators. The factory radiator shrouds stay in place. No drilling or changes to the bike are needed.

We design the guards from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut them on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
