Fresco pipe guard KTM EXC, Husqvarna TE 250/300 2017-2019

The guard fits a new, unbent Fresco expansion chamber. It does not fit the stock OEM, FMF, DEP or OXA. For the stock expansion chamber there is the PG01, and for OXA the PG20.

How a two-stroke pulls depends on the shape of the expansion chamber, which reflects the pressure wave back to the cylinder. A dent changes that shape, and the power delivery changes with it.

The Fresco expansion chamber runs low under the engine, so rocks and logs hit it first. The PG22 encloses it in a rod cage that does not collect stones or mud. You can easily clean the exhaust and the underside of the engine.

We TIG-weld the guard from 8 mm rod of 304 stainless steel, which contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. After welding we clean and polish it. The chromium forms an oxide layer on the surface that protects against rust, so the steel stands up well to water, mud and salt.

You bolt the guard on at four points, two upper and two lower. It needs no drilling or changes to the bike. You can fit it on its own, with our SP01 (aluminium), SP12 or SP13 (HDPE) skid plates, or with plastic plates, for example KTM Six Days and Acerbis.

We design the pipe guard from a 3D scan of the bike and cut the parts on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
