For bikes from model year 2024 (KTM EXC-F, Husqvarna FE, GasGas EC 250F and EC 350F) there is the SP18, for the KTM EXC-F from 2012–2016 the SP07, and for the Husqvarna FE from 2012–2016 the SP10. For the KTM SX-F and Husqvarna FX 250/350 from 2017–2023 there is a separate SP02 SX. A lighter plate for the same bikes in 6 mm HDPE is the SP15, and for Husqvarna with a linkage guard the SP14.

The plate covers the engine cases, the starter motor and the clutch and ignition covers from below. Without a guard these parts take the hits on rocks, roots and logs, as well as stones thrown up by your front wheel and by the wheels of bikes riding ahead of you. A cracked case or cover means an oil leak and usually the end of the ride off-road, and replacing an engine case means splitting the engine.

The rigid sheet spreads the force of an impact across the whole plate and its mounting points on the frame, so a stone does not hit the case at a single point.

PA11 is the Polish designation for the AlMg3 alloy (EN AW-5754), aluminium with about 3% magnesium. It resists corrosion even in salt water, which is why boats are built from it. We bend the plate on a press brake and TIG-weld it on both sides. After welding we clean and polish it.

Aluminium copes better with the sharp edges of rocks than plastic does, and a 4 mm sheet is thinner than an HDPE plate, so it leaves more ground clearance. If you prefer less weight, the SP15 in 6 mm HDPE for the same bikes weighs 0.73 kg, while this plate weighs 1.01 kg.

The kit includes mounting bolts and washers. You bolt the plate to the frame at four points, with no drilling and no changes to the bike, so in an impact the force goes into the frame and not through the bolts into the cases. The SP02 works together with clutch and ignition cover guards.

We design every plate from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
