Made in PolandSkid plate (bash plate) with pipe guard made of 4 mm AlMg3 aluminium (EN AW-5754, PA11), with an extra linkage guard (Prolink) made of 6 mm HDPE, for TBI two-strokes: Husqvarna TE 250/300 and GasGas EC 250/300, 2024–2027. In hard enduro the pipe is hit most often by rocks and logs, and this guard takes the blow. It has 9 mounting points, which you bolt to the frame with no drilling and no changes to the bike. It fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe (not FMF, DEP or Fresco).
The guard fits only a new, unbent stock (OEM) pipe and does not fit FMF, DEP or Fresco exhausts. For the KTM EXC of these years there is the PG17 (2.34 kg), without the linkage guard layer. The 8 mm HDPE plate on its own with a linkage guard for Husqvarna and GasGas, 2024–2027, is the SP16.
We add a layer of 6 mm HDPE sheet to the aluminium skid plate with pipe guard, and it covers the linkage (Prolink). Thanks to it the bike does not snag or hang up on obstacles. The layer weighs 0.43 kg: the PG17 H weighs 2.77 kg against 2.34 kg for the base PG17.
HDPE is high-density polyethylene, which stands up to impacts and abrasion. It slides well over logs and rocks, flexes on impact and returns to its shape, and it also damps noise and vibration.
The aluminium part covers the engine cases and covers from below, and the expansion chamber at the front and side, which on a two-stroke runs low under the engine. The shape of the expansion chamber is matched to the engine, so a dented pipe changes the power delivery. Internal supports position the guard in relation to the pipe, the frame and the engine, and a large hole at the lowest point lets mud out.
You mount the guard at nine points: the front bracket and a mount to dedicated points in the frame, frame hooks at the widest point, rear lugs bolted to the sockets in the frame, and the rear frame bracket. We bend the aluminium on a press brake and TIG-weld it on both sides. After welding we clean and polish it.
There is no drilling and no changes to the bike. We design every guard from a 3D scan of the specific bike with the stock exhaust and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
