Hard enduro guards
In hard enduro the bike rides over rocks, logs and roots, so the underside, the radiators and the exhaust take the hits. Below are the four places worth guarding first, and the guards we picked for them.
The engine runs at high revs with almost no airflow, and the underside of the bike catches on every obstacle. That is why we start with four areas: the engine underside with the linkage, the radiators, the two-stroke pipe and the TPS sensor.
We design every guard from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut it on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. It bolts on with no drilling or modification of the bike.
The guards fit the KTM EXC and XC-W, Husqvarna TE, GasGas EC, Beta RR and Xtrainer, Sherco SE and Rieju MR PRO. The KTM 300 EXC Hardenduro and 300 XC-W Hardenduro are the same bike as the 300 EXC and 300 XC-W TBI from 2024–2027, with KTM's factory protection package, so the same products fit them.
Engine underside and linkage
The skid plate takes the hits from rocks, logs and rock edges that would otherwise land on the engine cases, covers, water pump and starter. A cracked case or cover means an oil leak and usually the end of the ride. The smooth underside slides over logs and rocks, and the linkage guard (prolink) protects the linkage from impacts and keeps the bike from catching on obstacles with it.
For the KTM EXC and XC-W there are plates without a linkage guard: the SP08 in 8 mm HDPE and the SP04 in 4 mm aluminium. The Husqvarna TE and GasGas EC also come with a linkage guard: the SP16 in 8 mm HDPE and the PG17 H, which combines the plate, a pipe guard and the linkage guard. For the Beta RR 250/300 2T there is the SP06 and for the Rieju MR PRO 300i the SP17, both with a linkage guard.

Radiators and fan
The radiator on an enduro bike is a thin aluminium core with fins. In a fall on its side the core bends, the channels crack and coolant leaks out, and without coolant the engine overheats quickly. A radiator guard passes the impact to the frame. A full front (RG17) also closes the radiator at the front, while an open frame (RG18) leaves the front open.
Hard enduro adds overheating. On slow, technical climbs almost no air flows through the radiators, while the engine runs at high revs with the clutch slipping. A fan moves air through the radiator at a standstill too. It does not replace a healthy cooling system: coolant, cap and tight hoses.
The Fan Set kits include the fan. Guards marked F are for bikes with a factory fan, for example the KTM 300 EXC Hardenduro. For the 2024–2026 Beta RR two-stroke there is the RG19 Fan Set. For the Rieju MR PRO 300i with a factory fan there is the RG21. The fan alone for KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas 2024–2027 is the Fan Set TBI.

Two-stroke pipe
The expansion chamber sits low under the engine and is the first thing rocks and logs hit. Its shape is matched to the engine, so a dent changes how the power comes in. The guard is a cage of 8 mm 304 stainless steel rod, TIG welded. It is open, so it does not collect stones or mud, and the pipe and the underside of the engine are easy to clean.
The guards fit a new, undented stock (OEM) expansion chamber. The X version covers more of the chamber, up to the header bend at the cylinder: choose it if the pipe often hits rocks, and the standard one is enough in lighter terrain. FMF and OXA pipes have their own guards (PG15, PG15 X, PG21).
KTM EXC, Husqvarna TE and GasGas EC 250/300 TBI, 2024–2027: PG10 and PG10 X. Beta RR 250/300 2T: PG07, Beta Xtrainer: PG12. Sherco SE 250/300 2T, 2025–2026: PG24. Rieju MR PRO 300i: PG18.

TPS sensor
The TPS is the throttle position sensor: the engine control unit uses it to set the fuel amount and the ignition. A damaged sensor or a torn-out wire gives uneven running, no response to the throttle or stalling. The aluminium guard takes the impact before it reaches the sensor and replaces the factory plastic cover.
The TPS2 is for 250/300 two-strokes with TBI injection, 2024–2027, and also covers the wiring and connector under the throttle body. The TPS is for TPI injection, 2018–2023. Both bolt on at two factory points with the factory bolts.

8 mm HDPE or 4 mm aluminium
Both plates protect the same parts. They differ in how they behave in an impact.
8 mm HDPE
- Lighter: an 8 mm HDPE sheet weighs about 30% less than a 4 mm aluminium sheet of the same size (the SP08 weighs 0.86 kg, the SP04 1.11 kg).
- Flexes on impact and returns to shape, and damps impacts and vibration.
- The smooth underside slides over logs and rock edges.
- Does not turn brittle in frost. Heat-bent from a single sheet, with no welding.
4 mm aluminium (AlMg3)
- The stiff sheet spreads the force of an impact across the whole plate and its mounting points.
- Handles sharp rock edges better than plastic.
- Thinner than an HDPE plate, so it leaves more ground clearance.
- Resists corrosion even in salt water, TIG welded on both sides.
HDPE makes sense when weight and sliding over logs matter, aluminium when the plate often hits sharp rock edges. The PG17 H combines both: 4 mm aluminium with a 6 mm HDPE layer at the linkage.
Questions and answers
In faster enduro the guards mostly protect in falls and against stones thrown up by other wheels. In hard enduro the bike rides over logs, rocks and roots, so the underside, the pipe and the radiators also hit the obstacles themselves, and the engine heats up at low speed. That is why the stiffness and sliding of the plate, a linkage guard, a pipe guard and a fan matter more.
Yes. The KTM 300 EXC Hardenduro and 300 XC-W Hardenduro are the same bike as the 300 EXC and 300 XC-W TBI from 2024–2027, with KTM's factory protection package, so the same products fit. The Hardenduro comes with a factory skid plate and fan, so our plate is a replacement in another material, not a missing part. For the radiators choose the guards marked F (RG17 F, RG18 F), which are made for bikes with a factory fan.
HDPE is lighter and slides better over logs, while aluminium is stiffer and handles sharp rock edges better. The details are in the comparison above on this page.
