Radiator guards Yamaha YZ, FX, WR 250 4T 2015-2018

The Yamaha fan kit (WR250F and YZ250FX 2015–2018, WR450F 2016–2018) is a separate product in the “Fan kits” category.

A radiator on an enduro bike is a thin aluminium core with fins. In a fall onto its side the core bends or twists, the channels crack and coolant leaks out. Without coolant the engine overheats quickly, so a punctured radiator usually means a tow back. RG06 wraps each radiator in a frame at the side, and the inner supports brace against the bike's frame and are bolted to it, so the force of an impact goes into the frame. The front stays open, air flows straight onto the core and the factory radiator shrouds stay in place.

We bend the guards from AlMg3 aluminium sheet (EN AW-5754, PA11) 4 mm thick and TIG-weld them. After welding we clean and polish them. It is an alloy with about 3% magnesium, the kind boats are built from because it resists corrosion even in salt water. 4 mm sheet is stiff, holds its shape and stands up well to abrasion. The set weighs 0.81 kg.

The kit contains two guards, one for each radiator, and mounting hardware. You bolt the guards to the frame through the inner supports, with no drilling and no changes to the bike.

We design the guards from a 3D scan of the specific bike and cut them on CNC machines in Katowice, Poland. Professional riders test every new model before it goes on sale.
